Its rhythm mirrors the heartbeat and has long been used in ritual\, prayer\, healing\, and journey work. The steady pulse of the drum supports nervous system regulation\, deepens meditation\, and reconnects us to the Earth. \nEach drum is made from natural materials — the hide of an animal and the wood of a tree. In our time together\, we will take a moment to honor the life that makes this instrument possible\, acknowledging the animal and the tree with gratitude and respect. \n  \nIn this workshop\, you will:\n• Learn about the history and sacred use of the drum\n• Choose the rawhide you feel most called to work with\n• Create and lace your own hand drum\n• Set intention and prayer into your instrument\n• Participate in a closing circle to honor and bless your drum \n🥁 Choice of Rawhides\nWhen creating your drum\, you will choose the animal hide you feel drawn to based on the energy and totem medicine you wish to work with.\n🦬 Buffalo (Bison)\nA totem of strength\, abundance\, stability\, freedom\, gentleness\, gratitude\, and prosperity.
